Hotels - graded hotels can be found in all areas of Switzerland Bernese Oberland Berghotel Faulhorn - A mountain hotel on the path between Schynige Platte and First. A few metres below the summit of the Faulhorn, it is not a venue for an extended stay but perfect for those who are looking for a memorable experience. Only access is on foot! Alfa Soleil - a comfortable 3-star hotel hotel in Kandersteg. The proprietor has extensive knowledge of walking in the area and can advise on suitable routes. Within 10 minutes walk of the railway station and convenient for other local public transport. Alpenblick - Small Chalet Hotel in Mürren with a personal, friendly atmosphere. Unique view of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Located on the footpath Grütschalp-Winteregg-Mürren. For early birds we offer a Thermos breakfast. Eiger Guesthouse - located in the traffic-free village of Mürren, this guesthouse is owned by Scotsman Alan Ramsay and his wife. Prices are reasonable and the Aprikosen-Kuchen is recommended. Superb views to the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Golderli - a mountain inn located at Griesalp in Kiental. A thoroughly charming, inviting sort of place, it is one of the finest of Swiss mountain inns today. Beatrice cooks some of the best meals served at any Berghotel. The Golderli is open from May till October and offers 2 and 4 bed rooms and dorms. Alpenblick - a comfortable 3-star hotel in Wilderswil. About 10 minutes walk from the railway station it provides a perfect base for exploring the Jungfrau - Interlaken area. Breakfast from 07.00h means you can get an early start. Graubünden - Grisons Engadinerhof - a well-run 2-star hotel close to the centre of Pontresina. Within 10 minutes of the railway. Buses stop nearby. Great value packed lunches make this a true walker's hotel with mountain views from almost every room! Feels like a 3-star hotel - good value. Wallis - Valais
Champex Lac - TMB - Chalet d'Alpine is located in the traditional Swiss village of Champex Lac which is in a great situation for extensive walking routes and is best known for being one of two places where walkers start the Tour of Mont Ambassador Brig - a 3-star hotel in Brig. Although not an obvious choice as a base for walkers, Brig offers easy access to all parts of Upper Wallis including Saas Fee, Goms, Zermatt etc. Public transport links are frequent and within a few minutes of the hotel.
