Advertising - Overview

There is no intention that this web site will suffer the fate of many sites where advertising overwhelms content. Banners and other forms of advertising are encouraged but only where they promote activities and products relevant to site visitors.

Walking Switzerland is in development stage and uses the successful format established by Walking Britain which has been well received in the press - including the Daily Mail, Times, Sunday Times, Guardian, Independent and many other papers and magazines. More recently Walking Switzerland has been included in newspaper editorials in its own right.

Site Statistics

Walking Switzerland sees approximately 500,000 page views per year (August 2007). Traffic is rising each per month with traffic 30% ahead from last year.

Tours & Trek Operators

Cost €60 per annum - the Tours & Treks Directory is for the sole use of organisations and companies operating tours and treks suitable for walkers. Includes :-

  A full colour banner (either gif or jpeg format)
  Free design and construction of banner (if required)
  Descriptive text under banner providing a brief outline of what you offer
  Links to your own web site if applicable or contact information in pop-up window

General Information

Image specifications - the aim of this site is to provide information to its visitors as quickly as possible. Therefore we do impose limits on image file sizes and we do prefer not to use distracting animations.

Page and image design and construction - we build content free of charge if required. Normally we ask you to provide text for under banner positions as you know your product better then we do! Where possible we use images and text available on existing web sites for construction of feature pages.

Sponsorship - careful consideration would be given to any sponsorship for specific areas of the site.
