Jungfrau Region

Date - 06 Sep 2007

The addition of a further 6 walks in this area means that for the time being coverage of the Jungfrau region is now complete.

The Jungfrau region was the area that I first walked and it has many fond memories. There is plenty of variety with almost constant mountain views. Paths are generally superbly maintained and signed. A slight negative is that some paths are very busy especially at weekends. However there are still routes where you can escape to the solitude of the mountains.

The next area to be completed will the walks around Kandersteg also in the Bernese Oberland. Much quieter than the Jungfrau Region this area also offers excellent mountain scenery, well maintained paths and many opportunities for refreshments in the mountains.

Following on from Kandesrteg, a series of walks in the Saas Valley will be included. In addition a trio of walks from Zermatt will also feature in this enhanced coverage of walking in the Valais/Wallis. After that area has been completed a return to Graubunden will see the final stage of this first period of enlargement of the site. What gets added next is still to be decided!
